Interact July Service Project - Donation Drive

Hi Wilshire Rotarians,

We are looking for your support for an Interact Project (donation drive) led by Sean (Loyola), Faith (Gala) and Luna (Larchmont). If you would consider bringing donations (see details below) to the next Lunch Meeting at the Koreatown YMCA Center for Community Wellbeing on August 6th, that would be much appreciated!

Message from Interact:

We are working with the Little Tokyo Rotary and the Bee A Little Better organization to put together basic necessities bags for individuals living on Skid Row. We are looking to put together 50 bags to help unhoused individuals get through the summer. These are the items in need:

Items to consider:

• Bag for care items (e.g., gallon zip lock bags)
• Sunscreen
• Lotion
• Liquid soap
• Hand towel, Beach or bath towel
• Hat
• Wipes
• Nail clippers
• First aid kit
• Comb or brush
• Mirror
• Water or juice (put an encouraging note/ label on the bottle?)
• Soft (many have issues with their teeth) non-perishable food items
• chapstick with SPF
• Kleenex or toilet paper
• Toothpaste and toothbrush (soft)
• And whatever else you want to donate

Always appreciated gently used items:

• Drawstring/ elastic pants
• Belts
• Shoes
• Women's leggings/ joggers/ sweatpants
• Shirts
• Hats
