This Week At Wilshire Rotary

Presidents Message
This week's zoom guest speaker, Jennifer Newton or "Jen", and I have know each other for a number of years. We met when I worked as the director of a non-profit educational foundation working with Los Angeles High School. As an alum of LA High and a fabulous dancer herself, Jen was teaching hip-hop dance in an after school program at LA High. Using the power of dance she has built and grown an exceptional organization, The Outkast Academy, into a creative and educational haven for underserved youth. You don't want to miss meeting Jen and hearing about her journey!

May is Youth Service Month in Rotary!
We are pleased to welcome our zoom guest speaker as the personification of someone committed to serving youth!
Jennifer Newton is the Founder, Director and Artistic Director of The Outkast Academy, a creative and innovative organization that works to ignite purpose in our most vulnerable youth. Their mission is to combat poverty, stabilize mental health, and decrease dropout rates to elevate strong leaders within our inner-city communities.
Join us on zoom this Wednesday at noon to meet Jennifer, to see how she supports youth in our community and how we may be able to help!
