Our first Wilshire Rotary Club meeting of the new year was action-packed with good vibes and fun had by all. Sam Lagana, our speaker, shared inspiring stories of how one never knows where life will take you. Not only is Sam the CEO and President of Notre Dame High School in LA, he is the stadium voice of the LA Rams and created the iconic battle cry of "Who's House?"
We also inducted Candace Wong into Wilshire Rotary. Very exciting! Let's all welcome her at our upcoming meetings, service projects, and fellowships.
Thank you to Ray & Dia Schuldenfrei for providing the wine at our opening meeting and to Carolyn Layport for donating her 50/50 raffle winnings to the club.
It was great to see so many members and guests and hope to see this continue throughout the year.
We have 2 more service opportunities this month at the Anderson Munger YMCA. Please let Angel, Rob and Rae Jin know if you can help distribute fresh produce from 10:30am-1:30pm on Tue, 7/18 and Tue, 7/25.
Join us fun and fellowship at LACMA's Fri night Jazz on 7/28 at 6pm. Bring your picnic basket, blanket or chair and enjoy a lovely summer night in LA. Get there a little early to stake your spot.
Lastly, be sure to mark your calendars for our Aug 2 Ebell meeting. Governor Makiko will have her official visit to our club and we want to show her Wilshire Rotary is the best in the district so we need everyone to attend.
