Hello Wilshire Rotary and Friends -
It's hard to believe we are at the end of October. Scary fast how time flies when we are busy Doing Good and Having Fun!
What an incredible carnival game booth we put together at the Larchmont Fair yesterday...lots of kids and adults came by to play ring toss, tic-tac-toe, or fishbowl toss for their chance to win fun stuff toys and squishies. Larchmont Charter Interact was right next to us doing wonderful face painting and kid tattoos for a long line of kids. Such a great way to showcase our partnership and get some good visibility and outreach in the community.
We also sold out of pumpkins at our annual Pumpkin Patch this weekend. Our patch hosted a very successful Trick or Treat event for so many neighborhood kids on Saturday and the last of the pumpkins went on Sunday. Thank you to all who volunteered our patch this season as the funds raised all go back to our community and global service projects.
Saturday morning, we had our inaugural District Peace Walk in Historic West Adams to promote peace and understanding in our world. It was a lovely morning with Rotarians from across our district coming together for this event. We had many cars tooting their horns and local neighbors come out in support.
After the Peace Walk in the AM, we had some hauntingly great fun at Cuomo Castle on Saturday night. Thank you to Amy & Jim Cuomo for hosting such a wonderful Halloween fellowship. Amazing decorations and creative costumes made for a spooktacular event.
