Hello Wilshire Rotary and Friends -
Thank you to Scot & Wendy Clifford for hosting our "Hot August Night" fellowship to round out the summer. As Wendy commented, "The minute the Wilshire Rotarians started to arrive it had a great vibe. I love my Rotary friends and love that we have so much fun together." She has coined a new phrase called: Wilshire Vibe! I think it perfectly states how we come together to "Do Good. Have Fun."
Our next meeting will be this Wednesday at the Ebell. All Wilshire Rotary members needed to vote to accept the updated Club Bylaws and Constitution sent to all members via email. Also happening, Daniel Loh will be inducted into Wilshire Rotary this Wednesday. He is a teacher and Interact advisor at Larchmont Charter School. Very excited for Daniel to join our Wilshire family so let's all be there to give him a warm welcome.
Ian Waterhouse will be our speaker about his 13 years with The Walt Disney Company. He started in the theme parks at Walt Disney World and working in the Studio, Media and Corporate businesses he has a diverse perspective on the various teams and projects he supports. I was intrigued when I first met him and chatted about his Disney life and am sure you will be too.
Come assemble peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on Saturday, September 9 at 12N. This is our September service project. We will set up an assembly line on the Clifford's front lawn at 262 S. Norton and need to make a minimum of 100 sandwiches for the Hollywood Food Coalition. This project involves preparing and delivering bag lunches to the needy every Sunday. Recently, they delivered 1,750 lunches during the worst of Tropical Storm Hilary. Please let Janice or Angel know if you can help and what you can bring: peanut butter, jelly, and/ or bread.
