Hello Wilshire Rotary and Friends -
Wilshire Rotary for the WIN X 3 at the District Picnic yesterday! I wish every member could have been there to share the overwhelming pride and pure joy as our club shined bright.
Captain & Past President Christopher Cox paddled our cardboard boat to victory in two heats. The first heat to qualify and the second to determine the winner of 12 boats overall. Crown #1.
Damon Fortier, Andi Ceragoli's husband, designed our "Wilshire Waves" boat and earned Wilshire Rotary Club a victory for "Best Boat Design." It really was a sight to see Captain Christopher's matching shorts and svelte legs painted on the side of our boat with crustaceans, fish, and a 3-D wave on the back. Crown #2.
Chili Cook and Past President Ron Reyes brought a big pot of his now award-winning chili for the chili cook-off and ranked supreme against 9 other entries. It was so good, my daughter went in for a huge plate of it after the competition. Crown #3.
A huge thank you to Captain Cox, Designer Damon and Chef Reyes for our club's Triple Crown! I'd also like to give a shout out to the 18 Wilshire rotarians, family and friends there for cheering and supporting our team. Check out our website www.wilshirerotary.org for all the fun pictures.
This coming Thursday, August 31 at 6pm we have our monthly fellowship at the Clifford residence. Theme is "Hot August Night" and a nod to Neil Diamond with lots of fun and games to ensue so RSVP to Wendy if you plan to attend.
Do Good. Have Fun!
