Hello Wilshire Rotary and Friends -
I hope you were able to enjoy the 5 speech candidates for Pageant of the Arts at our club meeting this past Wednesday at the Ebell. We had 5 amazing speeches given from speech teams at Larchmont Charter and Loyola high schools. First place speech contest winner was Lawrence Lee, a Junior from Loyola and the second-place winner was Cristian Rojas, a Senior from Loyola.
A big thank you to Bruce and Heide Striegel for hosting a WUNDERBAR Oktoberfest fundraiser last night. The food was an impressive spread of german fare and was all so delicious. Much food and merriment had by all. Danke Schoen!
One week to go on our Pumpkin Patch, so please be sure to volunteer. We are open M-F 2-6pm and Sat-Sun 10am-6pm. Please sign up as it's really a fun time with beautiful pumpkins and a great way to take in the start of the holiday season. 568 N, Larchmont Blvd.
Join your fellow Rotarians to promote peace this coming Saturday at 9am. The walk will take place in Historic West Adams and should be about an hour or so. Registration is $15 per person and includes a t-shirt and refreshments. Click here to register: Peace Walk | Rotary District 5280 (rotary5280.org)
After the Peace Walk in the AM, get ready for some hauntingly great fun at Cuomo Castle on Saturday night, October 28th at 6PM. This is a great event to invite non-Rotarians to showcase how we excel at Having Fun! All ages welcome, costumes encouraged. Register to let Amy know how many will be in attendance.
On Sunday, October 29 from 12N-5PM, Wilshire Rotary will have a game booth at the Larchmont Fair. Please let Janice know if you can help work the booth along with our Interactors. It's a great family event and another fundraiser for our club.
A lot coming up with lots of ways and opportunities for you to "Do Good. Have Fun." For more upcoming events and to check out our pictures go to www.wilshirerotary.org
