INA PINKNEY REGALES WILSHIRE ROTARIANS AND GUESTS WITH HER AMAZING LIFE STORY AT CANTERS BREAKFAST MEETING
This Week At Wilshire Rotary
February 19, 2023
Presidents Message
Sometimes I feel like Rotary has taken over my life! But then, I realize that actually I have embraced Rotary in so many ways because it offers me so many things! Friendship, personal fulfillment and networking and professional connections. What I love most are all the educational opportunities - ones that allow us to make sense of the world around us, the world inside of us, and where we fit within the world - ones that expose us to new ideas and concepts, foster new connections, increase our marketable skills and help us understand each other better.
I hope you'll take advantage of our workshop this Saturday that provides an exceptional educational opportunity to help us understand each other better, communicate more clearly, and learn to work through differences without conflict. If you haven't registered - please do so now!

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 25th
"Difficult Conversations: The Art and Science of Working Together"
Difficult Conversations: The Art and Science of Working Together is an engaging, interactive workshop exploring a powerful set of principles and strategies that will help you approach difficult conversations in a radically new way, one that can heal divides and change hearts and minds.
Focusing on the question, "Who do we need to be to have the conversations we need to have?" participants will discover:
Why difficult conversations often trigger our fight/flight survival drive, and how that shuts down our brain's ability to listen, be present and take in new information.
Why trust is essential when navigating a difficult conversation, and how we can quickly establish trust even with someone we don't know well.
How our personal story can get in the way of clear communication, and how to look "beyond" our story to access our innate capacity for connection, creativity, and collaboration.
How understanding the "three dimensions" of difficult conversations can help us move more quickly from conflict to resolution.
So Sorry if You Missed it!
BREAKFAST MEETING WITH INA PINKNEY
All I can say about last Wednesday's breakfast meeting is .....WOW! You have no idea what you missed. Ina Pinkney shared the incredible story of her life as the "Breakfast Queen" of Chicago with her restaurant Ina's and more importantly as a Polio survivor and spokesperson for Rotary International Polio+.
