Hello Wilshire Rotary and Friends -
Jim McDonnell spoke to us at our Ebell meeting this past Wednesday and I wish everyone could have been there to hear him. He brought up some very thought-provoking issues with lots of Q&A at the end. As former LA County Sheriff and now sitting on several boards for various organizations, he was a very interesting speaker.
Our next speaker will be Christy McAvoy on Wednesday, November 15 at the Ebell. She will give a bit of history on Mr. Ebell and the Ebell club beginnings. Koreatown Rotary will be joining our lunch meeting to hear and learn about the Ebell as well.
Reminder to buy your Rotary Foundation raffle tickets for $10 each or book of 12 for $100. All tickets must be purchased by Nov 10 with the drawing held at the Foundation dinner on Nov 19. Winner need not be present to win. 1st Prize $5,000. 2nd Prize $3,000 (two winners). 3rd Prize $1,500 (two winners). Contact Wendy Clifford to buy tickets.
Wilshire Rotary's November service project will be the annual Big Sunday Thanksgiving Stuffing event on November 22 from 9AM-12N at Baldwin Hills Elementary School 5421 Obama Blvd. All ages welcome.
