Presidents Message
I hope you all are weathering the storms and staying warm and dry! Last Saturday's workshop was held in the third floor "sun room" at the Ebell and was a pretty cool space and I mean that literally and figuratively! In spite of the chill, attendees were actively engaged. I loved it that we had people from so many different parts of our community. Members from LAPD, the Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce, the Windsor Square Hancock Park Historical Society, the Ebell, Interactors as well as other Rotarians in District 5280 joined Wilshire Rotarians for this important and informative workshop aimed at supporting our Peace and Conflict Resolution area of focus.
This week we will turn our attention toward another Rotary area of focus, The Environment, when we welcome our zoom speaker from the City of Los Angeles.

NEW CITYWIDE CURBSIDE
ORGANICS PROGRAM
OrganicsLA is a curbside organics recycling program from the City of Los Angeles, mandated by Senate Bill 1383, a statewide mandate aimed at keeping organic waste out of landfills and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Effective immediately, residents serviced by LASAN are required to place food scraps and food-soiled paper, along with yard waste, in their green bin. The City of Los Angeles will pick up the green bin weekly and the collection day will remain the same. The green waste will be processed to create compost to be used by farmers.
Join us on zoom Wednesday to learn more about this important environmental program.

Difficult Conversations Workshop
Over 50 Rotarians and community members attended last Saturday's workshop at the Ebell! Attendees said it was well worth braving the inclement weather to participate in this amazing all day interactive program which provided valuable insights and skills.
Participants lined up to speak with Kern and to buy his book.
The Ebell, in their usual fashion, provided a stellar breakfast and lunch spread for the day.
