I am beyond proud to announce that Wilshire Rotary has received the large "Club of Excellence" award for the 2023-2024 rotary year!
This award is for each and every one of you. It's a recognition of: your service to our local community at our club's monthly service projects, a recognition of your generosity in giving to the Rotary Foundation to help eradicate polio worldwide and fund clean water projects internationally (just to name a few), and for our efforts to be more visible and promote Rotary every way we can. I am so honored to serve as your Club President this year and am especially proud to be a member of Wilshire Rotary.
Our District Conference wrapped this morning and was simply incredible. Kudos to Amy Cuomo for chairing an amazing conference for our district. Thanks to Elizabeth Watts-Russell for negotiating with the Biltmore to get us great room rates. Stellar work to Mindy Lake for helping coordinate metro passes for rotary to attend the Friday night Dodger game. Cheers to Joanne McLaughlin for serving as Marketing Specialist and helping present PR awards last night. Great work to Scot Clifford for running a smooth and efficient district business meeting this morning. Bravo to Leon Nixon as an inspirational MC at this morning's ecumenical service. Shout out to Dan Hodgkiss for being a Diamond Sponsor of the District Conference and sharing his extra special balcony seating at the Governor's Ball last night. Wilshire Rotary always represents!
Our next event will be on Monday, May 13. Governor Makiko is inviting all Rotarians to come to a very special luncheon to meet the Rotary International President Gordon McInally.
