Look for the weekly Ambassador bulletin every Sunday!
I understand that communication is key, which is why I'm happy to bring back The Ambassador! As Wilshire Rotary's regular bulletin, I'm hoping it will help you stay informed and plan for the events and meetings you don't want to miss. But I need you to do your part too! Sync our website calendar to yours, attend meetings, support events and join the fun! Remember why you became a Rotarian and let's work together to make this the best year ever!
This Week At Wilshire Rotary
October 16, 2022
Presidents Message
As I return from a long weekend in Palm Springs celebrating my 50th High School reunion I am reminded of how important other people are in our lives. It was awesome seeing former classmates, some that I have stayed in close touch with and others that I hadn't seen in 50 years. It was especially interesting learning about the different paths we have all pursued. One of the things I love about Rotary is getting to know people from many different walks of life and building long lasting friendships.
In that spirit, be sure to join us to welcome our speakers and guests at our upcoming meetings. Attend our breakfast meeting on the 19th, and register for our exciting field trip to Rich Correll's Icon's of Darkness on the 26th followed by Halloween Happy Hour with District Governor, Olivia, at Boardner's in Hollywood! Don't forget to put in some volunteer hours at the pumpkin patch!
COMING UP THIS WEEK:
Wednesday, 10/19, 7:00 am Breakfast Meeting at Canters
GUEST SPEAKER
"Yoga Gives Back"
KAYOKO MITSUMATSU
Join us for breakfast on Wednesday, Oct. 19th, to meet Kayoko Mitsumatsu - founder of "Yoga Gives Back", an organization dedicated to services that are totally aligned with Rotary. Over the last 15 years, they have empowered over 2400 mothers and children in India. Their programs advance women’s rights and interrupt the cycle of poverty by empowering women and children in India with basic education, scholarships for higher education, and microloans for businesses.
Last week on zoom, we were privileged to meet world renowned guitarist and one of the main performers in our upcoming November 20th "Soul of Rotary" District Concert, Juan Carlos Quintero. JCQ's experience in and extraordinary knowledge of all aspects of the music business was fascinating and very educational!

An incredible, innovative Rotary Foundation fundraiser co-chaired by our very own Amy Cuomo and Leon Nixon. Wilshire Rotary has FOUR VIP tables so far! A few seats are still available, let Joyce, Elsa or Amy know if you are interested in purchasing a $250 ticket to be seated at one of the tables.
If that is not in your budget and you wish to attend, individual seats are now on sale. Please do attend! Let's not only support the incredible Rotary Foundation, let's show Amy and Leon how much we appreciate their extraordinary efforts and dedication in making this concert a reality!
