Dinner, Fundraiser & Celebration of 10 Years of Dedicated Service 

Join your fellow Rotarians and their family at the Seaside Lagoon on Saturday, August 24th for our annual BOAT RACE. This years event will include our signature boat races, cornhole games, food contest, and much more. We look forward to seeing you all for some fun fellowship. More details to come~

Celebrate Labor Day poolside with Mediterranean fare from the entire region.  The mood is Mediterranean chic, but the pool will be open for those who wish to truly partake in the fun.  Enjoy plenty of food, signature cocktails, wine, beer and soft drinks at Casa Cuomo.

The festivites begin at 2.

The mission of Hollywood Food Coalition is to nourish the community by rescuing and distributing food, preparing nightly meals, and uniting efforts to achieve food equity.

Our vision is a city where everyone has food, community, and support.

We turn mission and vision into reality by doing a number of things.

We welcome people to dinner each night. We rescue and redistribute food daily to other organizations. We care for our immediate community through our wellness program. We build community with and through our volunteers and community partnerships.

The Ebell is closed for filming 9/18 and we have rescheduled our Vocational Award recipient, Melrose Mac.

Our speaker will be Lyndsie Zacheis, Author, Actress, World Traveler and Founder of the Play Way.

Thirsty Crow is a timeless, neighborhood watering hole with an offering of over 100 whiskies, including 60+ small batch bourbons. We embrace sustainable, seasonal practices and utilize techniques and recipes of bar masters from the days of yore.

The Thirsty Crow uses fresh squeezed juices, in-house infusions, homemade shrubs, sherbets, jams, purees and fresh seasonal ingredients.

Thirsty Crow is part of 1933 Group’s collection of fine establishments, which include Sassafras, Harlowe, Idle Hour, Oldfield’s Liquor Room, La Cuevita, Bigfoot Lodge, Bigfoot West, Highland Park Bowl, and the Formosa Café.

Come join your fellow Wilshire Rotarians and community members to clean up and prep our Pumpkin Patch on Larchmont Blvd.

Wear grubby clothes and plan to work hard.  Gloves, food and beverages will be provided.

We are having a collection event for the military men and women and their families at Camp Pendleton and Fort MacArthur.  I spoke to the people running the Warrior Warehouse and Airman’s Attic and have a very specific list of what they need at the moment.  Their spaces are limited and the shelves that normally contain the following items are very empty.  The demand is constant because there is always new personnel arriving.

We are only accepting the following items listed on the flyer.

Do-si-do skills not required!  We are reviving a Wilshire Rotary Tradition complete with live music, great food and drinks at our very own Pumpkin Patch on Saturday, October 19th.  The fun begins at 2PM and is open to the public.  This is a great opportunity to showcase our club and all the good we do, and the fun we have.  This year we are very excited to feature the talented singer-songwriter, Rob Faucette, on stage.  And, if that is not reason enough to attend, we plan to have food trucks on-site, plus adult and kid-friendly beverages available for purchase.  So, dust off your cowboy boots, find a great hat and perhaps even learn a line dance or two.

There is not cost to attend as food and drinks can be purchased on site, but please register to attend and brings lots of guests.

The Boulevard is closed for the day of festivities featuring kids’ activities and rides, bounce houses, games, food booths, local vendors, a costume contest, music, and more.

Wilshire Rotary has secured discounted tickets for the incredible Cirque du Soleil show, Kooza, being held Under The Big Top in Santa Monica.  We have group seating for the 5:30 show on Sunday, November 10th.  We have great seats in Section 103.  Standard ticket pricing in this section ranges from $141 to $210 per ticket!  We are offering them to Wilshire Rotary members and guests at the great price of $109.00 which also allows for our Club to receive $15.00 per ticket.  This is a great way to continue our tradition of Doing Good and Having Fun.

Big Sunday's 13th Annual Thanksgiving Stuffing Event will be on Wednesday, November 27 at Radford Studio Center in Studio City.  This year we’re filling 4000 bags full of food – which will feed 16,000 grateful and hungry people – at more than 100 nonprofits and schools all over the greater LA area. Between recipients, volunteers, collectors, donors and sponsors, this one event will touch nearly 20,000 people of all ages and backgrounds.

In addition to the bag-stuffing, there will be tons of other impactful and fun helping and giving events going on, including a big community breakfast, all to the sounds of a great bluegrass band. It will be a true festival of gratitude!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Join us Wednesday, Dec 4th at The Ebell for another Pageant of the Arts contest. We will be hosting the Speech and Art portion.  Various local schools and students will be represented and we need our club members to vote!! We will also hear from The Rotary Foundation's, Mark Rogo and hand out a few Paul Harris pins.

• 1,000 Paul Harris points will be awarded to the winners of the wreath and tree decorating contests!
• 5, 000 Paul Harris points will be awarded to the Rotary club with the most attendees!

Our speaker will be Lisa Derderian, Public Information Officer (PIO) for the City of Pasadena.  Lisa is responsible for both police and fire departments.  We will also learn about Rotary's role in the annual Rose Parade.

Wilshire Rotary will also be presenting a donation to the LAPD Reserve Foundation and will be accepted by Karla Ahmanson and various LAPD officers.

Our incredible Rotary club always has much to celebrate, and what better time to celebrate than the holiday season?  Join in the merriment on Friday, December 20th at the home of Elsa and Larry Gillham.  Don your favorite FESTIVE holiday sweater, and, if so inclined, bring a white elephant gift valued at $15.00.  We will also be decorating table top trees that we will be giving away to local familes, so please bring an ornament to hang on a tree as well.  We will have a variety of chili for all diets, plus fun sides, for $20.00.  You can BYOB or bring $10.00 for a bottomless specialty cocktail.  If you prefer to contribute chili for 20 people in lieu of the $20.00, please let me know.  We do our best to make these parties as budget friendly as possible.
